Purpose:
To work with the Director of Operations to prepare and maintain the facilities and grounds for guests and campers; be directly involved in Calvin Crest’s gracious and hospitable treatment of guest groups, welcoming and serving them as required or requested; be able to work a morning or evening shift and work independently or with a team; participate in the spiritual life and practices of Calvin Crest Conferences.

Responsibilities:

• Follow management’s plans for upkeep of the buildings and grounds
• Clean, prepare, and maintain all lodging, meeting, dining, and restroom facilities for guests.
• Be responsive hosts to guest groups or Calvin Crest event participants and strive to meet their needs during events and activities.
• Keep the facilities and grounds clean, trash in dumpsters, and equipment properly stored.
• Move equipment as needed to serve guest groups.
• Maintain accommodations equipment.
• Embrace and live out the organization’s mission, vision, and values through daily tasks.
• Serve diverse cultures and socio-economic groups so all are accepted and included.

Qualifications:

• High School degree or equivalent; other training a plus
• Previous experience or familiarity with Calvin Crest preferred
• Experienced and able to use a computer and other technology
• Able to be on one’s feet for a maximum of 8 hours a day
• Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Able to drive a vehicle
• Ability to work without direct, constant supervision, maintaining accountability
• Creative, proactive, problem-solving abilities with a positive attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, in writing, one on one, or in a group setting
• Desire to continue to grow and accept more organizational responsibility
• Able to prioritize tasks appropriately with input and direction from management
• Personal initiative, self-starter, able to work independently, and work well with a group
• Personal neatness, dependability, honesty, congeniality and work schedule flexibility

Working Conditions:

• Will encounter chemicals, cleaning solvents, commercial products, dust
• Will spend time much time working outdoors in all weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
